O'Madain (modern spelling) descendant of Madadhan meaning one who fights
as fiercely as a dog.
For more than six hundred years, the Maddens were one of the most
powerful and illustrious families in the west of Ireland. Up to the
early 11th century they formed one clan with their kinsmen, the O'Kellys.
Of ancient lineage the Maddens stem from Maine Mar, the celebrated Chief
of the Cla Colla who wrested Galway and Roscommon from the Firbolgs in
the 4th century. Lords holding sway over extensive territory in southeast
Galway. A considerable portion of their holdings were confiscated by
Cromwell. A portion was restored by the Act of Settlement in 1677, and
until the close of the 19th century were among the leading landowners in
Mayo, Leitrim and Fermanag.
During the Middle Ages, this sect produced a number of distinguished
Chiefs and ecclesiastics who were frequently mentioned in the Irish
Annals. In more recent times, many were prominent in the literary field.

Anthony was born and raised in Lewiston, Maine to the proud parents Mike and Claire. The youngest of four boys Anthony quickly learned to defend himself and use his cunning and charm to get what he deserved...all of his parents' attention and energy. Anthony was a large baby and the older siblings felt it necessary to give him a more appropriate name. They decided on the nickname 'Fats', and Anthony not necessarily thrilled with his given name accepted, and eventually insisted on being called 'Fats'. Luckily for his parents, Fats was a good kid and didn't get in too much trouble, he left that up to his brothers, and they were happy to oblige. Fats is now the most physically fit of all of his brothers and enjoys teasing them about their weight. Anthony received an Associates of Science Degree from Southern New Hampshire University and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Business Adminstration at S.N.H.U. Rebecca was born and raised in Lisbon, Maine to the proud parents Richard and Reine. Rebecca has one older brother named Rich. Rebecca came into the world creating quite a stir...she was premature and only weighed 3lbs 6oz. Her early entry into the World left her body deficient of vital nutrients and the doctors were not sure she would survive. Those that know Rebecca today know that she is a fighter and even more stubborn than Anthony, after a short time in the hospital she fully developed and was sent home to conquer the world. Rebecca needed that fighter's mentality growing up as a child. Rebecca was the only girl among her brother and many male cousins. She insisted on competing in any and all sports her brother participated in and could care less about dolls, dresses and tea sets. After a stellar career in high school sports and Academia Rebecca ventured off to college. St. Anselm College would provide some of the academic and athletic challenges that Rebecca needed. In her Sophomore year Rebecca was accepted at the University of Westminster in London to study abroad for a semester. While in England Rebecca had the opportunity to travel much of Europe visiting Ireland twice, Scotland and Amsterdam. She made many wonderful friends and had the time of her life and hopes to get back to Europe soon. After completing her undergraduate degree at St. Anselm's Rebecca joined a high profile Lobbying firm in Concord, NH. Rebecca is currently pursuing her MBA at the Southern New Hampshire University and enjoying a successful career as a Senior Account Manager at Cyber-Ark Software in Dedham, MA. Resume'
Rebecca and Anthony were married on June 24, 2000 at Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon, Maine. Rebecca's father Richard escorted her to the altar and her Matron of Honor was her sister in law Jennifer Mynahan. Anthony's Best Man was his brother Patrick.
